Frequently Asked Questions

Please review the list of common questions for information about our programs.

What is expected of me for travel soccer?

Travel team practices usually start during the summer and take place one to two times a week through the summer and the entire soccer season. The travel season lasts from the weekend after Labor Day until the second week of December. Your travel team might also compete in tournaments before, during and after the season. Most last an entire weekend (Friday through Sunday).

What does the travel program fee include?

Our base registration fees ($225) cover each player’s participation in the Fall Travel Season only. While some of our teams will compete only in the Fall season, many will also take part in tournaments, play in winter or spring leagues, participate in State Cup tournaments, pursue team-based camp activities and more. These costs could add up to several hundred dollars beyond the basic registration fee. Decisions regarding these extra activities are made by individual coaches on behalf of their teams. Parents should feel free to ask their coaches about expectations when they are placed on a team.

Additionally, it’s important to note that all new players with SSC will be required to buy a uniform (costs range from $60-80)  and returning players may need to buy new uniforms either because of size or due to a change in our club uniform supplier. We work as a club to keep uniform costs down but sometimes these changes are beyond our control.

What is expected of me when playing in the travel program?

Commitment to your team and coaches is expected. That means you attend each practice, game, and participate in soccer camps and tournaments. It will be expected that your parent(s) will facilitate your participation and attend all events relating to games and tournaments with you. Conflicts, such as other sport or social commitments, other than school or religious based, are expected to be resolved in favor of travel team commitments.
